Amazon EFS (Elastic File System) is a cloud-based file storage service for applications and workloads that run in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) public cloud. Aug 17, 2020 · You need to use three Kubernetes settings to mount EFS to Fargate on EKS. Those are StorageClass, PersistentVolume (PV), and PersistentVolumeClaim (PVC). Configuring StorageClass and PVs are steps that an administrator (or similar) would do to make EFS file systems available for application developers.

The question is whether to use container instances or Fargate. What ECS calls a container instance is known as a worker node in Kubernetes/EKS. We learned it the hard way. Trending political stories and breaking news covering American politics and President Donald Trump Thanks for the thoughts about EFS, I think you’re right. Back early on we used to mount an S3 bucket to the file system and that was a nightmare. I found that article as well, unfortunately Fargate does not allows ‘syslog’ as a logging mechanism, so it only works on EC2 hosted mode. At the time of writing this, EFS volumes can't be added to Fargate services through CloudFormation. There is a ticket for it and it's being actively worked on, so hopefully, this won't be an issue soon.
